Manchester United run rule over Malick Junior Yalcouye

Manchester United are scouting Malick Junior Yalcouye at Swedish side IFK Goteborg, as they might plan an approach ahead of the summer.

According to Expressen, Manchester United are one of the sides closely monitoring the progress of teenage midfielder Malick Junior Yalcouye. The 18-year-old African midfield sensation has caught the eye of many top clubs, with the Red Devils among those present recently to watch the midfielder in action for Swedish side IFK Goteborg.

Manchester United scouting Malick Junior Yalcouye

Manchester United are planning a transitional summer, and many ideas continue to play at the forefront of their minds. While strengthening the first team remains their utmost priority, the Red Devils do not want to lag behind in the competition to recruit some of the best young players around.

They might have set sights on several players from around the globe, and now their scouts appeared to have visited Sweden to scout a specific star. Club observers were present to watch IFK Goteborg teenager Malick Junior Yalcouye. Other reports have also linked them with highly-rated prospects like Chris Rigg.

As for Yalcouye, the teenager only arrived in February from Ivory Coast side Asec Mimosas on a five-year deal and almost immediately started featuring for the first team. Manchester United are not alone in the mix of the 18-year-old African midfield sensation, with several other European clubs also closely watching him in action since he made his mark.

Manchester United will now explore a possible move for the teenager, as there are chances he will ask his club to let him leave. This season, the Red Devils saw the emergence of Kobbie Mainoo, and Yalcouye could be considered a midfielder in the same vein, barring the top-flight experience the academy star has in the Premier League.

IFK Goteborg to demand record fee for Yalcouye

IFK Goteborg, or a club of its size and stature, could only dream of such significant interest in one of their players. Apart from Manchester United, a host of other clubs, including Bayern Munich, Bologna, FC Copenhagen, and even Liverpool, are mentioned as observers. Ajax and PSV Eindhoven are also interested, meaning the Swedish side will anticipate big offers.

Their current record sale stands at 50 million SEK, and they are reported to be dreaming of selling Yalcouye for at least 100 million SEK, which roughly converts to £7.3 million. Such a demand would be understandable considering the growing interest in the 18-year-old African midfield sensation, although only time will tell whether they will be able to achieve that sum.
