Tottenham are reportedly ready to enter the race for Benjamin Sesko ahead of the summer and compete with Arsenal and Chelsea.
According to Fichajes, Tottenham are ready to enter the race to sign Benjamin Sesko ahead of the summer window. Spurs might find tough competition in the attacker’s chase, with Arsenal and Chelsea firmly in the hunt to sign him from Bundesliga club RB Leipzig.
Tottenham enter Benjamin Sesko’s chase
Benjamin Sesko has been in multiple media stories, following links to the Premier League after an impressive season with RB Leipzig. The Slovenian had a slow start to his debut campaign in the Bundesliga. Still, it has since come to the fore with some fine goalscoring performances, as he has racked up 18 goals across all competition for the Bundesliga giants.
While he has attracted plenty of interest from English sides, Tottenham are the latest club to join the race for the young striker. Ange Postecoglou continues to look for attacking reinforcements ahead of the window, with a striker firmly on his agenda.
Richarlison has disappointed for a second season running, and Postecoglou might have lost patience with the Brazilian. Hence, the need to bring a replacement seems high on his agenda, as does refreshing his forward line with a youngster. Sesko would perfectly fit the bill, although there’s hefty competition for the striker ahead of the summer.
Tottenham do have the financial capability to sign someone like Sesko, with the striker set to cost over £60 million in this window. However, they might not be able to offer Champions League football next season, which is where they might find it difficult to prise the attacker away, especially with Arsenal in the race.
Arsenal and Chelsea are interested in Sesko
Tottenham face competition from London rivals Arsenal and Chelsea, with both teams eager to recruit the RB Leipzig star in the summer. The Gunners have held discussions, and his agent has been spotted in some of their games this season.
Chelsea are also keen, with the club eager to sign a young striker to prolong their current project, which probably lacks a prolific No.9. Sesko’s 18 goals this season will have put him in that category. Still, it remains to be seen whether the Blues have a fair chance of beating Arsenal and even Tottenham to his signature.
