Premier League heavyweights Chelsea have not established formal yet over a move for 24-year-old CA Talleres winger Ramon Sosa.
According to a report by Dylan McBennett of Attacking Football, Ramon Sosa is the subject of interest from Chelsea. The Blues want to sign a wide attacker in the summer transfer window. But they are yet to establish formal contact with CA Talleres over a move for the 24-year-old winger.
The emergence of Ramon Sosa
Ramon Sosa has seen his stock soar since joining CA Talleres from Club de Gimnasia y Esgrima La Plata in January 2023. A native of Maracana, the Paraguayan international spent his formative years in his homeland. Meanwhile, he was eligible to represent two South American nations — Paraguay and Argentina — before choosing the country of his birth as his national side.
Meanwhile, the 24-year-old has started the 2024 season on a high, contributing to 11 goals in just 17 games thus far. Sosa has found the back of the net six times while providing five assists. The player’s progress at CA Talleres has not gone unnoticed, capturing the attention of several high-profile clubs across Europe.
A move to the Premier League might be on the cards, with Everton and Newcastle United recently joining the race to sign the CA Talleres winger. However, his next destination might be Sosa, with the West London club keen on securing his services.
London calling?
Chelsea’s interest in Ramon Sosa is understandable. While Mauricio Pochettino has several wide attackers in his squad, a closer look reveals the need for a more reliable option. Noni Madueke and Mykhailo Mudryk are raw right now, while Raheem Sterling has blown hot and cold.
So, Sosa has emerged as a viable target for Chelsea, with recent reports claiming they have asked for information about the South American winger. However, Dylan McBennett has suggested that the Blues are yet to establish contact over a move for the 24-year-old wide attacker.
While the Premier League heavyweights are keen on securing Ramon Sosa’s services, the move will not formalise until they approach CA Talleres. So, it will be interesting to see if they launch the offensive to sign the Paraguayan international anytime soon.
