Chelsea have reached an agreement with Palmeiras to sign Brazilian teenage sensation Estevao Willian in a deal worth €65 million.
According to a report from Fabrizio Romano via Caught Offside, Estevao Willian is all set to join Chelsea as they have a verbal agreement of €40 million plus €25 million in place with Palmeiras for his transfer. The teenage attacking sensation was on the wishlist of some of the biggest clubs in Europe. But the Blues have managed to secure his services.
Estevao has come up the ranks at the Brazilian club. He was promoted to their first team at the start of the year on the back of his exceptional performances at the youth level. In just 17 appearances for the first team, he already has three goals and an assist.
His performances at the youth level for both club and country have resulted in a lot of interest in him. Top clubs have been monitoring him for a while now, and his recent performances for the Palmeiras have resulted in clubs intensifying their efforts to sign him.
While multiple clubs have been linked with Estevao, Romano believes Chelsea have in control of the pursuit right from the star. The Blues have been scouting him on a regular basis, and they were involved in talks with his representatives for a long while.
Chelsea agree deal for Estevao Willian
Chelsea managed to agree terms with the player last week. Once they had the green light the players ended with regard to his contract, the salary and the project, no other club tried entering the race. While initial attempts from the Blues to strike a deal with Palmeiras resulted in disappointment, they have finally managed to agree terms.
Chelsea have reached a verbal agreement with the Brazilian club after they sent a new proposal worth €65 million. The London club will pay €40 million upfront to complete the transfer with another €25 million in add-ons.
The Blues will also take care of the taxes and as far as the bonuses are concerned, they are based on the number of games he will play, the goals scored along with trophies won. They are generally quite easy to achieve if Estevao performs at the expected levels once he joins them in 2025. Chelsea have no plans of sending him out on loan, and they are looking to give him a run in the first team from the start because of his huge potential.
