Barcelona sporting director Deco recently met the entourage of 16-year-old Belgian defensive prodigy Jorthy Mokio.
According to a report by Spanish outlet Mundo Deportivo, Jorthy Mokio is the subject of interest from Barcelona. The Catalan giants have set their sights on the 16-year-old KAA Gent defensive prodigy during their scouting trips to Belgium. And the club’s sporting director, Deco, recently met the youngster’s representatives over a possible move in the summer transfer window.
Who is Jorthy Mokio?
Jorthy Mokio is one of the best young prospects in his homeland, as Belgium dreams of having another golden generation that makes them dream about silverware. A native of Gent, he began his youth career at KFC Merelbeke before joining KAA Gent in 2020.
Since then, the 16-year-old defensive prodigy has come leaps and bounds, establishing himself as a hot property in the market. The Belgian wonderkid has already made his first-team debut for KAA Gent, making his bow in March 2024 while turning out four times in the Jupiler Pro League Europe Playoffs.
