Newcastle United confident of signing Tosin Adarabioyo, Lloyd Kelly

Newcastle United are reportedly optimistic about beating the competition to the signatures of Tosin Adarabioyo and Lloyd Kelly.

According to a report by Graeme Bailey on HITC, Tosin Adarabioyo and Lloyd Kelly are the subjects of interest from Newcastle United. The Magpies are in talks to sign the two centre-backs, with confidence rising in the Tyneside club’s camp over signing the soon-to-be free agents in the summer transfer window.

Tosin Adarabioyo, Lloyd Kelly and their expiring contracts

Tosin Adarabioyo has been a solid performer for Fulham since arriving from Manchester City in October 2020. The 26-year-old has come leaps and bounds in the last four years, even though he hasn’t constantly been an undisputed first-choice starter. Nevertheless, he has turned out 132 times thus far for the West London club, chipping in with five goals and two assists.

On the other hand, Lloyd Kelly has been a pivotal figure for Bournemouth since arriving from Bristol City in July 2019. The Englishman has made nearly 150 appearances thus far for the Cherries, chipping in with three goals and eight assists.

However, Lloyd Kelly and Tosin Adarabioyo will become free agents in the summer transfer window, with their contracts expiring on July 1. Such a situation has not gone unnoticed, capturing the attention of several high-profile Premier League clubs. However, the duo should link up at Newcastle United in the 2024/25 season.

St. James’ Park calling?

Newcastle United will delve into the market for multiple centre-backs in the summer transfer window. Fabian Schar, Sven Botman, and captain Jamaal Lascelles are long-term absentees for the Tyneside outfit, with Botman and Lascelles likely ruled out for the remainder of 2024. So, it behoves Newcastle United to invest in central defenders in the coming weeks.

Lloyd Kelly and Tosin Adarabioyo have thus emerged as viable targets for Newcastle United, with recent reports claiming they have an advantage in the race to sign the defensive duo. The latest update has claimed that the Magpies are confident of beating the competition to their signatures.

Other Premier League bigwigs are also interested in signing Kelly and Adarabioyo in Bosman moves in the summer transfer window. However, with talks underway, Newcastle United should seal the deals for the Englishmen.
