Carlos Soler offered to Arsenal, Tottenham; Aston Villa in talks

Aston Villa lead the race for the signature of PSG midfielder Carlos Soler, who has been offered to Arsenal and Tottenham.

According to a report from HITC, Carlos Soler is expected to part ways with Paris Saint-Germain in the upcoming transfer window. The Spanish midfielder has been offered to Arsenal and Tottenham, while Aston Villa are already in talks to sign him.

Carlos Soler’s time at PSG

Soler came up the ranks at Valencia and made quite a name for himself while playing for their first team. He parted ways with his childhood club to join French giants Paris Saint-Germain in the summer of 2020 in a deal worth £17 million.

While he has featured in 62 matches for PSG, the majority of those appearances have come off the bench. Soler has failed to cement his place in their first team and has only started 11 Ligue 1 games this term.

The 27-year-old has been way down the pecking order, which is clear by the fact that he hardly got any minutes in their UEFA Champions League run, which ended in the semi-finals.

PSG are expected to make quite a few changes to their squad in the summer. While the focus will be on giving Luis Enrique everything needed to succeed on the European stage by signing top-quality players, the French club will also look to sanction a few departures.

Carlos Soler offered to Arsenal and Tottenham

Carlos Soler is one of the players PSG are ready to part ways with and he has been offered to potential suitors. Arsenal and Tottenham have both been offered the chance to sign the Spanish international.

Both North London clubs are looking to reinforce their midfield, and he could be a quality addition to their ranks. While both Arsenal and Tottenham have been made aware of his availability, they are yet to decide on whether to push for him.

Aston Villa leading the race to sign Soler

Aston Villa are keen on securing Carlos Soler’s signature, and they have already started making moves. Aston Villa manager Unai Emery and President of Football Operations Monchi both know Soler from their time in La Liga and feel he could be a great addition to their ranks.

Aston Villa will enter the market in a position of strength having qualified for the Champions League. They are looking at Soler as a replacement for Nicolo Zaniolo. While there is a purchase option in Zaniolo’s deal, the Villans are unlikely to trigger it as he has failed to live up to the expectations.

Soler prefers playing as an attacking midfielder, but he can feature in a deeper role as well as out wide on the flanks. His versatility is one of the major reasons why Emery is keen on having him in their ranks. Aston Villa have already initiated talks and are currently leading the race for his signature.
