Tottenham have offered €50 million for Takefusa Kubo

Tottenham Hotspur have tabled an offer worth €50 million for the services of Real Sociedad star Takefusa Kubo.

According to a report from Fichajes, Tottenham Hotspur are looking to reinforce their attack ahead of next season and they want to incorporate Takefusa Kubo into their squad. The Japanese international’s impressive performances have attracted the North London club’s interest and they have submitted an offer worth €50 million for his services.

Takefusa Kubo’s time in Spain

Kubo came into the limelight quite early in his career. He made a name for himself while playing FC Tokyo before making the move to Real Madrid in the summer of 2019. Things didn’t work out for him at Los Blancos and after multiple loan spells elsewhere, he joined Real Sociedad in the summer of 2022.

The Japanese international has revived himself over the past two seasons and his impressive performances haven’t gone unnoticed. In the ongoing season, the 22-year-old right-winger has featured in 39 matches and he has contributed towards 11 goals (7 goals, 4 assists).

His versatility, his abilities on the ball and his huge potential is what has resulted in strong interest from Tottenham Hotspur. They are keen on reinforcing their squad in the summer to provide Ange Postecoglou with enough firepower to compete with the best clubs.

Tottenham submit offer for Kubo

The Australian boss is looking for a complete overhaul, he wants to add a lot of quality to his squad. Reinforcing the attack is going to be one of the priorities and the club feels Kubo could be a great signing for them. He will add goals as well as creativity and his ability to feature in multiple positions will be a big advantage for Postecoglou.

In order to ensure they can sign the 22-year-old who still has over five years left on his contract with Sociedad, Tottenham have put forward a tempting offer worth €50 million. While there is a €60 million release clause in his deal, the North London club are determined to negotiate a lower price.

Despite his importance to Sociedad, the offer could force the board to consider negotiating his departure as it will be a huge financial boost and the funds raised could help reinforce their squad as a whole.
