Arsenal are reportedly keen on signing Newcastle United midfielder Bruno Guimaraes in the summer transfer window.

According to Caught Offside, Arsenal have contacted Bruno Guimaraes regarding a move  in the summer transfer window. Manchester City and Paris Saint-Germain have also shown interest in the Newcastle United talisman. But the Ligue 1 champions have cooled their interest now. Meanwhile, the Magpies want over £80 million to part ways with the Brazilian international.

PSG’s decision to cool their erstwhile interest in the 26-year-old will come as a boost for Arsenal and they will be hoping to get the deal done. Guimaraes has established himself as one of the best central midfielders in the Premier League, and he should prove to be a quality acquisition for Arsenal.

He would be a major upgrade on players like Thomas Partey and Jorginho next season. Bruno Guimaraes could form a solid partnership with Declan Rice at the heart of the Arsenal midfield.

The Gunners need to keep improving their squad if they want to win major trophies, and the Newcastle United midfielder seems like the ideal acquisition for them. The opportunity to move to Arsenal will be quite attractive for the player as well. He will wants to compete at the highest level, and Newcastle United are not quite at that stage yet.
