Manchester City fearful of losing Bernardo Silva, Kevin De Bruyne

Bernardo Silva and Kevin De Bruyne could both part ways with Manchester City in the upcoming transfer window.

According to Rudy Galetti, Bernardo Silva could leave Manchester City after the end of the season while Kevin De Bruyne’s future at the club is also uncertain. While they do not really need to do much in the upcoming summer transfer because of the kind of quality and depth they have in their squad, the potential departure of the duo could result in a few big moves.

Silva arrived at the club back in 2017 after making a name for himself while playing for AS Monaco. The Portuguese international has only gone from strength to strength since making the move. He has been an integral part of their first-team squad and has helped them win numerous titles over the years.

Silva to leave City amidst interest from Barcelona

The 29-year-old was linked with a move away from the club last summer as well but he ended up penning a new deal and committed his short-term future at the club. Silva has been looking for a new challenge elsewhere and he could once look to leave this summer and the £50 million release clause in his contract could come to his rescue. Interest clubs could look at it as a bargain price for someone of his quality.

Barcelona are the ones that have been interested in the Portuguese star for a long while now. They want to incorporate him into their squad and could knock on City’s door for his signature in the summer. Even Silva seems keen on making the move to the Catalan giants but they do not have the best of financial situations.

They already need to make a significant effort to make the moves of Joao Felix and Joao Cancelo permanent. As a result, forking out another £50 million won’t be easy but a few big departures could help their cause.

Kevin De Bruyne could also leave Manchester City

Silva could look to part ways in the summer and on top of that, De Bruyne’s future at the club is also uncertain. The Belgian international has been one of their most important players in recent years. He has played a huge part in their success over the years but he might also leave in the summer.

His contract with City runs out in the summer of 2025. With just over a year left on his deal, multiple top clubs are ready to push for his signature in the upcoming transfer window. Reports suggest clubs from the Middle East are willing to fork out a fortune to sign him.

While City are looking to open contract renewal talks, if they do not end up extending his stay in the next months, they do have a big decision to make regarding his future at the club.
