Chelsea are getting optimistic about signing Estevao WIllian after opening talks with Palmeiras for the 17-year-old attacker.
According to Ben Jacobs, Chelsea have entered into talks with Palmeiras for their attacking talent Estavao Willian. The Bleus are ready to make a €30 million offer plus bonuses for the 17-year-old Barcelona target, although Palmeiras want more than €60 million plus add-ons for the teenager.
Chelsea in talks for Estevao Willian
Palmeiras continues to produce some of the most exciting teenagers in South America and could cash in on yet another prospect very early in the player’s career. Having barely seen Endrick feature in their first team, the Brazilia side have already sold him to Real Madrid for a considerable fee and are looking at a similar deal for their 17-year-old attacker Estevao Willian.
Chelsea have been in contact with Palmeiras for the teenager, who, even if he signs, will not be able to join until next summer due to South American age rules and Brexit. However, the Blues are now optimistic about signing the teenager, having opened talks about a €30 million plus bonus offer for Estevao Willian.
Chelsea are hoping they can make headway with the Brazilian side, who are so far adamant about their asking price for the 17-year-old. They want at least €40 million guaranteed and a further €30 million bonuses, taking the entire offer to around €70 million.
Chelsea’s offer of add-ons remains unclear, and considering they are optimistic, the proposal might be closer to the player’s reported €60 million release clause. For now, the Blues might accelerate their efforts to bring the 17-year-old as soon as possible, as they might face some tough competition ahead.
Barcelona not in the running for Estevao Willian
There have been widespread reports about Barcelona’s interest, while Estevao Willian has a dream of playing for the Catalans. For now, they are out of the race as their precarious financial situation may not allow for such an outlay on a player who will only arrive in the summer of 2025.
There’s no interest from Real Madrid in the Palmeiras teenager, although Bayern Munich are reportedly keen to challenge Chelsea for the 17-year-old. The indication from Ben Jacobs is that Estevao Willian might end up either in the Premier League or the Bundesliga.
