Tottenham ready to sanction Richarlison sale this summer

Tottenham Hotspur are ready to sanction the departure of Richarlison as they look to raise funds for a rebuild.

According to a report from The Telegraph, Tottenham are ready to listen to offers for Richarlison as they plan for a big summer that could see major changes at the club. The North London club looking to reinforce their squad ahead of next season and it could lead to the departure of quite a few of their players.

The Brazilian forward is one of the players who could be sold to raise funds and make way for a world-class striker. While it has been a great start to life in England for Ange Postecoglou, the recent results have highlighted the need for change. The Australian boss has already made it clear that the upcoming transfer window could see them make numerous moves in the market.

Richarlison made a name for himself while playing for Everton in the English top flight. While his performances resulted in a lot of interest from across Europe, Spurs managed to win the race for his signature. They forked out £60 million to sign the Brazilian international in the summer of 2022.

Spurs to sell Richarlison?

Since making the move, he has featured in a total of 65 matches and has contributed towards 21 goals (14 goals, 7 assists. The 26-year-old hasn’t really lived up to the expectations and he hasn’t been a regular starter under Postecoglou.

In the ongoing season, he has 11 goals and three assists in just over 1,700 minutes of football spread across 30 matches. While his numbers are quite good this term, the Australian boss is not really sure about him being the main striker going forward. He seeks more firepower up top.

They decided against signing a replacement for Harry Kane last summer. While they have coped well without him, Postecoglou now feels the need to sign a world-class number nine and in order to make it happen, they are willing to sanction the departure of Richarlison.

The 26-year-old has been subject to a lot of interest from Saudi Arabia. If a club from the Middle East is willing to make a significant offer for his services, Spurs will be happy to negotiate his departure. It will make room for a big signing and also give them enough funds to reinforce their squad.
