Liverpool vying for Alberto Moleiro, player available for heavy discount

Liverpool are pushing for the signature of Las Palmas attacking midfielder Alberto Moleiro, who could be available for a bargain fee.

According to AS via Sport Witness, Liverpool are looking at ways to reinforce their attack ahead of next season, and they have their eyes set on Alberto Moleiro. The Las Palmas academy graduate has been in sensational form in the ongoing season, and the Reds are considering making a move for him in the summer.

Moleiro was promoted to Las Palmas’s first team in the summer of 2021. Despite being only 20, he has been a regular feature in their starting XI over the past few seasons. In his very first campaign in the Spanish top flight, he has featured in 24 league games and has contributed towards five goals (2 goals, 3 assists).

While Moleiro prefers playing as an attacking midfielder, he is capable enough to feature on either flank. His recent performances, huge potential and versatility are major reasons why top clubs are after his signature.

Alberto Moleiro’s bargain price tag

The Spanish youth international’s contract with Las Palmas runs until the summer of 2026, and there is a €60 million release clause in his deal. The report states that the Spanish club are ready to sanction his departure in the summer and that they would be willing to sell him for around €25-30 million.

With Alberto Moleiro potentially available for a fifty per cent discount, Liverpool have the perfect opportunity to add him to their ranks. The Reds have a long-standing interest in the 20-year-old sensation. They wanted to sign him two years back and have been monitoring him ever since.

The Merseyside club want to add him to their squad in the summer. The report claims that Moleiro will be a perfect fit in Arne Slot’s system, who is all set to take over from Jurgen Klopp after the end of the season. Slot is expected to have quite a few changes to the squad, and signing the Las Palmas sensation could be one of them.

While the Spanish club have him protected with a significant release clause, they feel a transfer in the upcoming window will be the best outcome for all parties involved. As a result, if Liverpool do make a significant move to sign the 20-year-old, Las Palmas will let him leave for a discounted price of €25-30 million.
