Coventry City midfielder Callum O’Hare has been linked with a move away from the club, with Aston Villa and West Ham United interested.
According to Football Insider, Aston Villa and West Ham United are keen on Callum O’Hare. And the 25-year-old midfielder’s decision to leave this summer will certainly come as a major boost for the Premier League clubs.
Aston Villa need to bring in more quality in the middle of the park, and the 25-year-old has emerged as a viable target. He has picked up ten goals and four assists in all competitions this season and is capable of operating as a central midfielder as well as an attacking midfielder. He will add some much-needed goals and creativity in the middle of the park.
O’Hare has been a key player for Coventry City, helping them reach the semi-finals of the FA Cup this season. They eventually lost out to Manchester United on penalties after an incredible comeback from three goals down.
It will be interesting to see if Aston Villa come forward with an official proposal to sign the midfielder at the end of the season. He is likely to be attracted to the idea of competing in the Premier League, and the opportunity to join the West Midlands club will be hard to turn down.
Aston Villa are currently pushing for Champions League qualification, and they will be an attractive destination for most players. The Villans have a quality manager like Unai Emery in charge as well. A move to the Premier league will allow O’Hare to showcase his qualities at a higher level, and he would get to compete in Europe.
West Ham also want O’Hare
West Ham United need to add more goals and creativity in the middle of the park as well. The likes of Edson Alvarez and James Ward-Prowse have done reasonably well since joining the club. But the Hammers need more quality in the midfield. The 25-year-old is well settled in English football, and he could make an immediate impact at the East London club, thus justifying their interest.
West Ham have an attractive project, and they have been competing in European football for a couple of seasons. They will be an attractive destination for the midfielder as well. Both Aston Villa and West Ham are viable destinations, and it will be interesting to see where Callum O’Hare ends up eventually.
