Tottenham mull over £45 million offer to sign Ivan Toney

Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly keen on signing Ivan Toney from Brentford in a deal worth £45 million this summer.

A report from Give Me Sport has claimed Tottenham Hotspur they are considering a £45 million bid to sign Ivan Toney. Brentford value the 28-year-old striker at around £60 million.

Toney is reportedly on the radar of Manchester United, Chelsea and Newcastle United as well. The Brentford striker has established himself as a reliable goalscorer in the Premier League, and the opportunity to join a big club like Tottenham will be an attractive option for him.

He will want to compete at a higher level, and Tottenham could provide him with Champions League football next season. Spurs are well-placed to finish in the top four if they can win their remaining games of the season.

Signing a player of his quality and experience for £45 million could prove to be a solid investment from the North London club. Tottenham decided not to replace Harry Kane last summer, but they have missed his clinical presence. Toney could fill that void next season.

Chelsea, Manchester United, Newcastle want Ivan Toney

Chelsea will need to bring in an upgrade on Nicolas Jackson, and the 28-year-old would be the ideal acquisition for them. At Manchester United, he could share the goalscoring responsibility with the Rasmus Hojlund.

Meanwhile, Newcastle need to bring in an upgrade on Callum Wilson. The experienced Newcastle striker has done quite well in the Premier League, but his availability remains a concern. Newcastle are overly dependent on Alexander Isak, and they need more quality at their disposal now.

All four clubs would represent an excellent opportunity for the Brentford striker, and it will be interesting to see where he ends up. He will hope to join a club capable of winning trophies in the coming seasons, and Tottenham are certainly in a better position compared to the other three clubs.

Chelsea, Manchester United, and Newcastle United likely to miss out on Champions League qualification, and they are going through a period of rebuilding. Meanwhile, Tottenham have performed at a high level this season, and they could easily push for trophies with a couple of quality additions in the summer.
