Jack Grealish could push for a move away from Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City in the upcoming summer transfer window.
According to a report by Fichajes, Manchester City could undergo major changes ahead of next season as a few of their stars want to part ways with the club. Jack Grealish is one of the players who is considering his future and could end up making a move in the summer.
Grealish’s record-breaking move to Manchester City
Grealish was a part of the Aston Villa youth ranks since his childhood days. He came up the ranks at some pace and made it to their first team in the summer of 2013. Following a successful loan stint at Notts County, he managed to establish himself in Villa’s first team.
The England international went from strength to strength while playing for Aston Villa. He was the leader of their attack and his impressive performances had put him on the radar of multiple top clubs. In the summer of 2021, Manchester City broke the bank and forked out over €100 million to acquire his services.
Since joining the English giants, the 28-year-old has featured in 122 matches and has contributed towards 32 goals. While he has been an important first-team player under Guardiola, the England international has not reached the heights everyone expected him to. Meanwhile, his market value has fallen to €65 million.
Grealish wants to leave Manchester City
The Englishman has showcased glimpses of the talent he possesses every now and then. But, the former Aston Villa captain has not been consistent enough, contributing to the drop in his market value. And, according to the report, he no longer fits into Guardiola’s plans. The Spanish manager does not see him as an integral part of his plans moving ahead.
Grealish has become a player who comes good on days but also struggles at times. As a result, Manchester City could look to bring in a new winger in the summer, and they could let the 28-year-old leave for the right price.
The report suggests that the player wants to part ways with Manchester City. The England international is not a guaranteed starter under Guardiola and could look for a more prominent role elsewhere. Given the kind of talent Grealish has and the fact that he still has quite a few years left at the top, there will be no shortage of interest in €65 million rated star’s services.
