Arsenal are reportedly open to paying €45 million to acquire Willian Pacho from Eintracht Frankfurt, with Liverpool also linked.
According to Bolavip, Arsenal are willing to cough up €45 million to secure Willian Pacho in the summer. Eintracht Frankfurt are looking for more in terms of fees and are aware of the growing interest in the 22-year-old defender, also a target for Liveprool, ahead of the next window.
Arsenal willing to pay €45 million for Willian Pacho
Willian Pacho has made a name in the Bundesliga following an impressive season with Eintracht Frankfurt, making 39 appearances in all competitions. The Ecuadorian defender will enter the summer with speculation surrounding his future at the German side, with a host of English clubs keen.
His left-footed profile makes him a unique option for a centre-back, as many top clubs are looking for such a player. Pacho makes a compelling case as the defender would want to play at the highest level and would not shy away from a move to the Premier League, where Arsenal and Liverpool are interested.
It is the Gunners who are making an exciting stride towards securing the 22-year-old Liverpool-linked defender, with Arsenal ready to pay €45 million to sign him. Frankfurt are open to a sale, but only if clubs can match their €60 million valuation or more, which is pretty close to what the North Londoners are about to offer.
Arsenal are in the market for defensive reinforcement, and their chase of Pacho indicates Mikel Arteta’s desire to bring competition for Gabriel Magalhaes. Jakub Kiwior remains a choice to cover for the Brazilian. But the Polish defender has occupied more of the left-back position this season. Hence, there are chances for him to leave, as the Gunners boss now views the 22-year-old Pacho as the right cover centrally.
Liverpool also keen on Pacho
Liverpool are the other English club keen on Pacho, with the club planning several changes ahead of the summer, including the purchase of a new left-footed centre-back. The Merseysiders are probably the only top-six club without a left-footed option centrally, something they would like to address and correct in the summer.
The Reds have yet to indicate their desire to make an offer, and unlike Arsenal, they are currently only monitoring Pacho from a distance. Liverpool could still come into the picture and could wait to see how Arsenal’s pursuit of the 22-year-old centre-back unfolds.
