Nottingham Forest could demand a fee of £20 million or more for defender Murillo, with a host of clubs looking at the 21-year-old Brazilian.
Nottingham Forest could sell Murillo for as low as £20 million, as per Football Insider, with several Premier League sides keen. The likes of Chelsea, Manchester United and Liverpool could have been alerted to the possibility of signing the 21-year-old Brazilian defender, who has had an impressive season.
Nottingham Forest can sell Murillo for £20 million
Nottingham Forest are in a lot of trouble with Premier League’s Profit and Sustainability Rules obligations, as they were deducted points after a breach of rules. Nuno Espirito Santo’s side are currently languishing near the relegation zone, and they will have to fight it out with at least three clubs to stand a chance to survive in the Premier League.
With the need to sell some of their critical stars evident, Murillo is one they might cash in on. Earlier reports stated Forest could demand £40-50 million for the 21-year-old Brazilian defender. Still, now they might have to accept a much lower bid, as they will come under pressure to raise cash to sustain their financial pressure.
Hence, now they are reportedly open to selling Murillo for £20 million, which would ideally make them a profit of around £5 million, considering they got him for £15 million last summer. The 21-year-old Brazilian defender has impressed, starting every game he has been available this season.
Moreover, Murillo has made it a point to start under two different managers, which shows how highly rated he is at Nottingham Forest. A host of clubs are keen on signing him, with Liverpool reportedly interested, while Manchester United and Chelsea also want him. All of those sides are angling for a new central defender and will not look at the Brazilian’s asking price and his quality before dashing on Forest’s doors.
Nottingham Forest to sell big players
Murillo is undoubtedly one of their most important players, and in an ideal world, they will have sold him for more than the reported £20 million price tag. The club are under tremendous pressure to get in the funds before July 1. Otherwise, they risk breaching PSR rules again.
Morgan Gibbs-White could also leave, with Tottenham and Newcastle United angling for a move for the Forest superstar. There could be others on the sales list when the season ends, as the club will have to accept prices lower than their actual valuations of those stars.
