Scott McTominay has been linked with a summer move away from Manchester United, with West Ham United interested in signing him.

According to a report from TEAMtalk, West Ham United are keen on signing Scott McTominay. Manchester United value the Scottish midfielder at £40 million. However, the Hammers might not be prepared to pay that kind of money for the Manchester United midfielder in the summer transfer window.

McTominay is not good enough to start for Manchester United every week, and the Red Devils should look to bring in an upgrade on him soon. However, recent reports suggested that Manchester United might keep hold of him beyond the summer transfer window.

Meanwhile, there is no doubt that the 27-year-old can be a quality player for most mid-table clubs. He will help out creatively and contribute defensively as well. The Manchester United midfielder has 12 goal contributions in all competitions this season, and West Ham could use a versatile midfielder like him.

It remains to be seen whether the Hammers come forward with an offer to sign the Scottish international in the coming weeks. They have been linked with a move for McTominay in the past as well, and the report from TEAMtalk claims that West Ham retain their interest in the player.

McTominay exit would be ideal for all parties

Meanwhile, Manchester United need to improve their midfield at the end of the season, and they will be hoping to get rid of some of their fringe players and raise funds for their own signings. Selling McTominay for £40 million will certainly boost their transfer budget and help them sign quality players in the summer.

Meanwhile, McTominay needs to play regularly at this stage of his career, and that is unlikely to happen at Old Trafford. A move to West Ham could be ideal for him. West Ham are currently competing in the UEFA Europa League, and they managed to win the Conference League last season.

The East London club will want to sustain that level in the coming seasons as well, and they must improve their squad for that to happen don’t stop signing the Manchester United midfielder will certainly help them improve.
