Aston Villa, Everton, and Tottenham Hotspur are all pushing for the signatures of soon-to-be free agent Ben Johnson.

According to a report by HITC, Ben Johnson has attracted a lot of interest from across Europe in the recent past as he is expected to part ways with West Ham United in the summer when his contract runs out. Aston Villa, Everton, and Tottenham Hotspur are three Premier League outfits keen on having the 24-year-old in their ranks.

Johnson joined the Hammers back in 2007. He came up the ranks at some pace and was promoted to their first team in 2020. Over the years, he has featured in 107 matches for West Ham. He might not be a regular first-team player, but his ability to feature in multiple roles has helped them immensely.

Ben Johnson could leave West Ham as a free agent

Ben Johnson’s current contract with the Hammers runs out at the end of the season. While they have tried renewing his deal, he has already rejected multiple proposals. As a result, there is a high possibility that he will be available for free in the upcoming summer.

While he might not be the most in-demand West Ham player, the interest in his services is increasing with every passing day. His ability to feature anywhere in defence, his homegrown status, and his availability for free have resulted in clubs keeping a close eye on his situation at the London club.

Tottenham, Aston Villa, Everton keen on Ben Johnson

Rivals Tottenham are one of the clubs keen on having the 24-year-old in their ranks. While they might not have signed a West Ham player for around 13 years, Spurs are looking at him as someone who can depth to their defence something that Ange Postecoglou is pushing for.

Meanwhile, Unai Emery is also seeking defensive reinforcement, particularly on the flanks, and Johnson has emerged as a great opportunity for Aston Villa because they can sign for nothing in the summer.

As far as Everton are concerned, they do not have the best financial situation. But, they do need to reinforce their squad and are keen on having a proven Premier League defender who won’t cost them a penny in transfer fees.
