West Ham and Fulham are considering a move for Panathinaikos striker Fotis Ioannidis as a summer squad option.

According to The Sun, West Ham United and Fulham could tussle for Panathinaikos striker Fotis Ioannidis. The London duo could look for an additional centre-forward as a squad option that could see either side make changes to their forward line.

West Ham and Fulham are chasing Fotis Ioannidis

Fotis Ioannidis has been a compelling presence in the Greek Super League this season and has lately hit imperious form for Panathinaikos. He dreams of upgrading his career and hopes that his 21 goals this season may see some big clubs call for his services.

He will undoubtedly want a dream move to the Premier League, with Panathinaikos ready to sanction a deal should they get a fair valuation for the £15 million-rated striker. West Ham United are keen on Ioannidis, while Fulham are also named as suitors for the towering striker in the report.

The London duo are looking at squad options ahead of the summer and certainly do not consider Ioannidis as someone to come in as a sure starter. Instead, they want the Greek striker to play second-fiddle to their leading men, Michail Antonio and Rodrigo Muniz,

The £15 million-rated striker could be a solid addition who could help strengthen their forward line and even add some precious goals next season. Either club does not have that necessary depth of quality on their side now; hence, the addition would make complete sense.

West Ham eyeing a new forward?

Apart from someone like Ioannidis, who is more or less a squad option, the Hammers are also angling for a move for a starting centre-forward. Sevilla’s Youssef En-Nesyri is an option, with the Moroccan ready to leave the Spanish side for a new challenge.

Ivan Toney is also featured on their shortlist, but the Hammers will face competition from some top London sides for the Brentford star’s signature. Overall, West Ham will likely spend decent money on a new centre-forward, with the club concerned about Antonio’s long-term future amid a season troubled by injuries.
