Manchester United and Newcastle United are reportedly keen on signing 29-year-old Juventus midfielder Adrien Rabiot.
A report from Calciomercato has claimed that Manchester United and Newcastle United have now established contact over a move for Adrien Rabiot. The 29-year-old midfielder might leave Juventus as a free agent in the summer transfer window.
Rabiot will be a free agent in the summer and he should prove to be a superb addition on a free transfer. He has been linked with Barcelona as well. The 29-year-old has established himself as a key player for club and country. Rabiot helped France reach the final of the World Cup in 2022, and he has impressed with his consistent performances in Serie A as well.
Manchester United could use a quality central midfielder like him, and it remains to be seen whether the Red Devils can convince him to join the club. Signing a player of his quality and experience on a free transfer would represent an excellent bargain.
Meanwhile, Newcastle United need more quality in the midfield as well. Players like Bruno Guimaraes and Joelinton have been linked with a move away from the club, and the Magpies will have to replace them adequately.
Rabiot would improve both clubs
Signing a quality central midfielder like Rabiot would prove to be a good decision. Signing the French international midfielder on a free transfer would allow Manchester United and Newcastle United to improve the other areas of their squad as well. It remains to be seen which of the two clubs manage to get the deal done eventually.
Manchester United will probably be a more attractive destination given their stature in European football. In addition, they have a better squad and a better opportunity to push for major trophies next season. Newcastle United are still very much in the infancy of their project, and they will need time before they can compete with the European elite.
Rabiot is at the peak of his powers, and he will look to make an immediate impact in the Premier League. He will add control, creativity and composure to the side. The French international will help out defensively as well. The 29-year-old has the physicality and technical attributes to do well in the English top flight, and he could improve both teams immensely.
