Manchester United are keen on signing AC Milan attacker Rafael Leao, and they will compete with Arsenal for his signature.

A report from Fichajes has claimed that Manchester United want to sign Rafael Leao in the summer transfer window. The 24-year-old Portuguese international, who has 12 goals and 12 assists this season, is also a target for Arsenal.

The Red Devils have been toothless in the attack this season, and they need to improve in the final third. Signing a quality wide forward could prove to be a wise decision. However, he plays a role similar to that of Marcus Rashford, and it will be interesting to see if Manchester United decide to use the England international in a central role next year.

Rashford excelled as the main striker for Manchester United last season, and he has been quite mediocre in the wide areas this year. Using him in the central areas would help share the goalscoring burden with Rasmus Hojlund as well. The Denmark international is still getting to grips with English football but has impressed in recent months.

Manchester United need more goals and creativity in the final third, and the 24-year-old AC Milan star would be ideal for them. He will be desperate to prove himself at the highest level after terrorising defences in Serie A. Manchester United are one of the biggest clubs in the world, and the opportunity to join them can be hard to turn down.

Arsenal want Rafael Leao

Arsenal are keeping tabs on the player as well, and it will be interesting to see if they decide to make a move for him. The report mentions that Leao could cost around €150 million in the summer, which could be a major problem for the Gunners.

They will need to improve the other areas of their squad as well and it is highly unlikely that they will splash out a club record fee on the Portuguese international. There is no doubt that Arsenal need a quality attacker, and the Portuguese international would be a superb addition for them.

They have not been able to rotate their front three adequately because of the lack of options at their disposal. The arrival of the AC Milan attacker would certainly give Mikel Arteta more options to work with. However, the transfer would not make sense financially unless the Serie A giants decide to accept a more reasonable offer in the summer.
