Liverpool’s new chief Michael Edwards is ready to sanction the departure of Mohamed Salah in the summer on one condition.

According to a report by HITC, Mohamed Salah could part ways with Liverpool in the upcoming summer transfer window. Their new football chief Michael Edwards is ready to sanction his departure amidst interest from the Middle East.

Salah’s future has been the talk of the town over the past few months. The 31-year-old’s current contract with the Merseyside club runs out in the summer of 2025. While they would love to hand him another new deal, the upcoming window is their best opportunity to cash in on the Egypt international.

Mohamed Salah’s time at Liverpool

He has been a part of the Reds since the summer of 2017 and has helped them win every major title. Salah went from strength to strength after joining Liverpool. He established himself as one of the best wingers in the world and has led the Merseyside club’s attack for years now.

In the ongoing season, he has 36 goal contributions in his 35 outings. The Egypt international might soon turn 32 but he still has a few years left in him. While Liverpool love to have him lead their attack for a few more years, they are well aware of the amount of interest in him from the Middle East.

SPL clubs to return for Salah’s signatures

Saudi Pro League clubs arrived at Liverpool’s doorstep last summer and they were ready to pay a fortune to sign him. But, the Reds were not ready to sell. They will return for him in the upcoming window and the PIF-backed Al-Ittihad are expected to be the ones who will go all out to sign him.

Salah is a priority target for the league as they look to take Saudi Arabian football to the next level. They already have some of the superstars of the game and are looking to add a few more in the upcoming window. The Egypt international is their ultimate desire and according to the report, the Reds could sanction his departure.

Michael Edwards ready to sell Salah

Michael Edwards who has returned to the club in order to lead them in the new era post Jurgen Klopp’s departure is ready to negotiate the departure of their star man. But, he has made it clear that he will only do that if the Egypt international makes it clear that he wants to move to the Middle East.

If Salah really wants the move and makes it known, Edwards will not stand in his way. He will look to cash in on him and reinvest the money into their squad. The Reds are well aware of the situation and they have been looking for potential replacements in case the former Chelsea star pushes for a move away from the club.
