Aston Villa are reportedly eyeing a move for Juventus full-back Andrea Cambiaso, a target for Real Madrid.

According to Tuttosport, high-flying Premier League side Aston Villa are keeping close tabs on Juventus full-back Andrea Cambiaso. The Italian defender is also a target for Real Madrid heading into the summer transfer window.

Who is Andrea Cambiaso?

The 24-year-old arrived at the Allianz Stadium in 2022 and is now making waves with his performances for the Bianconeri. Primarily a left-wing-back, Cambiaso is equally capable of doing a job on the other flank and also playing further upfield if needed. His ability to step up and deliver when needed makes him stand out in a rather inconsistent Juventus side.

However, his bank balance does not reflect his importance, and Cambiaso is currently getting the short end of the stick at least as far as the payroll is concerned. In their defence, Juventus are keen to rectify it and will sit down with the player in the summer to offer fresh terms.

With the 24-year-old expected to play a role in Luciano Spalletti’s Italy squad at the summer’s Euros, Juventus will be wise to have their man pen a fresh deal at the earliest. Fulham failed in their quest to secure Cambiaso last summer, and Aston Villa now have set their sights on him.

Aston Villa Want Cambiaso

Monchi is famous for his eye for talent and has now earmarked the Italian defender as a potential addition to Unai Emery’s side. The Villans have performed admirably under the Spaniard and are in contention for a top-four finish. Should they secure UEFA Champions League qualification, the English side are capable of attracting top players.

Matty Cash, for all his experience, is a liability at times. Add to it the lack of a senior understudy and it is clear why Villa are in the market for a new right-back. Cambiaso certainly qualifies as a top addition and will future-proof the role at Villa Park for years to come. Should Monchi get his man, it will count as a coup for the English side.

However, the 24-year-old has also been linked with Real Madrid as they scour the market for a right-back heading into the summer transfer window. He can also become an option for the left-back berth at Real Madrid. But Aston Villa will look to beat Los Blancos to his signature.
