Liverpool are all set to hand their mainstay Trent Alexander-Arnold a bumper new deal to extend his stay at the club amidst interest from Real Madrid.
According to a report by Football Insider, Liverpool are all set to offer a bumper new deal to Trent Alexander-Arnold. The Reds have made it their priority to extend his stay at the club and they are willing to offer him a bigger and better deal than Mohamed Salah and Virgil van Dijk.
Trent Alexander-Arnold’s contract situation
Alexander-Arnold has been a part of the Merseyside club since the age of six. He came up the ranks at some pace and was promoted to the first team back in 2016. The 25-year-old full-back has gone from strength to strength over the years.
He has established himself as one of their mainstays and has helped them win numerous titles in the recent past. But, with his current £180,000-a-week contract running out in 2025, his future has been the talk of the town.
Real Madrid have been linked with the right-back. Los Blancos want to sign someone who can replace Dani Carvajal in the long run and they would love to have the Liverpool graduate in their ranks. While Alexander-Arnold is flattered by links with the European giants, his desire is to continue at his childhood club.
A new bumper deal for Alexander-Arnold
With both parties keen on penning down a new deal it shouldn’t be that big a problem. They are eager to hold talks and are expected to sit down after the end of the season to discuss the terms of the deal.
As per the report, they are all set to offer him better terms and a longer contract than Salah and van Dijk. The duo’s contract also runs out in the summer of 2025. As a result, they will be offered new deals but it won’t come close to the one that will be put forward in front of their homegrown star.
