Tottenham Hotspur are keen on acquiring the services of 24-year-old Nottingham Forest star Morgan Gibbs-White.
According to a report by Football Insider, Tottenham Hotspur want to reinforce their attack ahead of next season. The North London club want to sign someone who can add creativity and make them more potent going forward. Spurs feel Morgan Gibbs-White is an ideal fit for them and they have made him their priority target for the upcoming transfer window.
Gibbs-White’s rise at Nottingham
Gibbs-White has made quite a name for himself in the English top flight in the recent past. His move to Nottingham Forest has done wonders for him. The 24-year-old attacking midfielder came up the ranks at Wolves before making the switch in 2022 and he hasn’t looked back since.
He has established himself as a mainstay in the Nottingham first team. While they haven’t had the best of seasons as a collective unit, the former Wolves star has been a consistent performer. He has featured in 33 matches and has contributed towards nine goals.
Tottenham keen on Gibbs-White’s signatures
His performances have put him on the radar of multiple top clubs and Tottenham are one of them. While he still has over three years left on his deal with the Tricky Trees, he could still end up joining a bigger club in the summer.
Nottingham Forest are in a big financial mess which could force them to sell quite a few of their stars. They were recently handed a four-point deduction after failing to comply with Premier League’s financial regulations. The sanction has seen them drop into the relegation zone, if they fail to survive in the top flight, his departure will almost be certain.
Spurs are aware of the situation and they do see an opportunity to land him at the club. He is a priority target for them as he will bolster their ranks and add depth. They want someone who can support Maddison and help make them more threatening going forward. Since he can feature anywhere in attack, his arrival will give them an overall boost and the Australian manager the much-needed depth.
