Manchester United are reportedly keen on signing RB Leipzig playmaker Dani Olmo in the summer transfer window.
A report from Give Me Sport has claimed that Manchester United view Dani Olmo as an alternative to Crystal Palace attacker Michael Olise, who has been linked with a move to Old Trafford and is their priority target.
Olmo has done quite well for Bundesliga club RB Leipzig this season, and the £155,000-a-week Spanish international could prove to be a quality Plan B for the Red Devils. He has been linked with Real Madrid and Chelsea as well.
Manchester United need more creativity and goals in the final third, and the 25-year-old should prove to be a quality option. He is versatile enough to operate as a central attacking midfielder as well as a winger. Manchester United are expected to part ways with Christian Eriksen, and Olmo could be his replacement.
The Spaniard is likely to be tempted to move to the Premier League if there is a concrete proposal on the table. Manchester United are one of the biggest clubs in the world, and the opportunity to play for them can be hard to turn down for any player.
Dani Olmo would be a cheaper alternative to Michael Olise
The Red Devils have been linked with Michael Olise as well. But he is likely to cost a premium this summer. The 21-year-old Premier League attacker is highly rated around the country, and a number of top clubs are keeping tabs on him. It will be interesting to see if Manchester United can get a deal done for the Spanish playmaker.
Moving to England would be a major step up in the Spaniard’s career right now, and he would get to test himself at a high level. Manchester United must improve their squad to get back into the Champions league and fight for major trophies once again. Improving the attack should be one of their priorities in the summer.
Apart from a quality playmaker, they should look to invest in a reliable goal scorer as well. Dani Olmo certainly has the physical and technical attributes to do well in the Premier League, and he should be able to settle in quickly and make an immediate impact at Old Trafford.
