Liverpool have put forward an improved offer for the services of the 23-year-old Real Madrid star Rodrygo Goes.
According to a report by Fichajes, Liverpool are gearing up for an all-important transfer window and they have their eyes on Real Madrid sensation Rodrygo Goes. With Mohamed Salah’s future uncertain, the Reds are looking to sign a top replacement and they are pushing for the signatures of the 23-year-old winger.
Liverpool eye Rodrygo as Salah’s replacement
Salah has been the leader of their attack for years now and he has played a big part in their success under Klopp. He could follow the German manager on his way out amidst interest from the Middle East. His contract with the Reds runs out in the summer of 2025 and Al Ittihad are pushing hard to bring him to the Saudi Pro League.
If he decides to leave, they will have to bring in a top-level forward to ensure they can cope with his absence. They have been on the lookout for an ideal replacement and feel Rodrygo could be on.
The Brazilian international has gone from strength to strength since joining Real Madrid in the summer of 2019. Despite being 23, he is already an integral part of their first team and has helped them win numerous titles including the Champions League.
While he features on the right flank on the majority of the occasions, the former Santos forward is capable enough to feature on the left as well as a centre-forward. In the ongoing season, he has featured in 41 matches and has contributed towards 21 goals.
Liverpool’s improved offer for Rodrygo
Rodrygo has found the back of the net on 13 occasions and has eight assists to his name. He has proven himself at the highest level and he can surely help them cope with Salah’s absence. He is still young and will only get better with time, as a result, Liverpool are willing to invest in him.
They have been making moves in the recent past as they look to lure him away from Real Madrid. While the Reds’ initial offer was rejected, they haven’t given up and have submitted a revised offer of €80 million for the 23-year-old.
But, even this will not be enough to acquire his services from the Spanish giants. Florentino Perez will not sanction his departure for less than €100 million. As a result, it will be interesting to see if Liverpool can negotiate their way to his signatures. Even if they do strike a deal with Los Blancos, convincing Rodrygo to leave Madrid could be difficult.
