Arsenal, Chelsea, and Newcastle United are reportedly set to battle for the signature of Juventus winger Federico Chiesa this summer.
According to Spanish outlet Fichajes, Arsenal and Chelsea have joined Newcastle in the race to sign the Italian international and are set to launch their respective offers to land his signature in the summer.
The 25-year-old has been linked with an exit from the cash-strapped Italian giants, who missed out on a Champions League spot following a controversial seventh-place finish in Serie A last season.
Chiesa has been unable to express his talent over the last two seasons due to lengthy spells on the sidelines through injury, but he has bounced back and produced a commendable output, scoring seven goals and assisting twice in 24 outings this season.
Chiesa’s contract at the Allianz Stadium runs out in 2025, so Bianconeri directors must sit down with his entourage to discuss the player’s future and determine which route the Italian winger wishes to follow.
It is not guaranteed that Chiesa will agree to sign a new long-term deal at the Allianz Stadium. If he decides against signing a contract extension, Juventus will prepare for his sale in the summer, so they won’t want to lose him as a free agent at the end of the 2024–25 campaign.
Newcastle, Chelsea, Arsenal all set to submit offers for Federico Chiesa
It remains to be seen what the future holds for Chiesa, but it is understood that Juventus are prepared to cash in on their No. 7 due to their financial concerns, which has obviously set the alarm bells ringing in the Premier League.
Newcastle United, for one, are considering a big summer offer for the Juventus winger. Eddie Howe is keen on bolstering his squad further after a disappointing season and wants to sign a new winger to replace the underperforming wing duo of Miguel Almiron and Jacob Murphy.
In addition to Newcastle, London duo Arsenal and Chelsea have also considered launching their respective offers for the signing of the Juventus wing wizard.
It is an open secret that the Gunners want to reinforce their attack by signing a new prolific goal scorer. However, it appears strengthening the flanks is also on Mikel Arteta’s checklist this summer, as the North London club have been linked with a few names in recent times, including Pedro Neto, Michael Olise, and Nico Williams.
Similarly, an out-and-out striker will be Chelsea’s priority this summer, with Victor Osimhen and Benjamin Sesko among their top targets.
Given how expensive a striker will be, a move for a high-ceiling winger like Chiesa may depend on how successfully Chelsea create funds by selling players.
A move for Chiesa would also place question marks on the long-term futures of Raheem Sterling and possibly Mykhailo Mudryk.
