Real Madrid and Manchester United will reportedly compete with Barcelona for 22-year-old Brazilian international Vanderson.
According to a report by Spanish outlet Fichajes, Vanderson is the subject of interest from Barcelona. But the Blaugrana will face stiff competition in the race to sign the 22-year-old in the summer transfer window. Real Madrid and Manchester United are also keen on landing the AS Monaco right-back.
Who is Vanderson?
Vanderson has established himself as one of the best full-backs in Ligue 1 since joining AS Monaco from Gremio in January 2022. The youngster took some time to get going at Stade Louis II but has come leaps and bounds in the last 12 months. His progress has also helped him break into his national team.
The young right-back made his debut for Brazil in June 2023 and has turned out twice for the Selecao. Meanwhile, the 22-year-old has battled a few fitness issues this season, restricting him to less than 1,500 minutes of game time. But Vanderson’s stock remains high, with Barcelona, Real Madrid, and Manchester United keen on signing him.
A Man in Demand
Vanderson’s name has been synonymous with Barcelona and Manchester United for a few transfer windows. And Deco is driving Barcelona’s potential move for the AS Monaco full-back heading into the summer transfer window. With a permanent deal for Joao Cancelo not set in stone, the reigning La Liga champions need an alternative, making the former Gremio man a viable target.
As for Real Madrid, Los Blancos can do with a right-back in the summer transfer window. While Dani Carvajal has regained his best form this term, the Spanish international is on the wrong side of 30. In addition, Lucas Vazquez is only a backup option at best. So, Vanderson is an option worth considering for Real Madrid.
Meanwhile, Manchester United’s interest in the 22-year-old Brazilian international is understandable. While Diogo Dalot has stepped up this term, Aaron Wan-Bissaka faces an uncertain future at Old Trafford. So, the AS Monaco full-back has emerged as a viable target.
With Real Madrid and Manchester United also in the hunt, the race to secure Vanderson’s services is heating up. It will be interesting to see if Barcelona can beat the other two European heavyweights to his signature.
