Arsenal are keeping tabs on Franculino Dju of FC Midtjylland striker Franculino Dju as Mikel Arteta eyes a new forward to his squad.

According to HITC, Franculino Dju, the FC Midtjylland, has emerged on Arsenal’s radar, with the club keeping close tabs on his development. Still only 19, the former Benfica teenager has made some progress in Denmark, making some big clubs notice his talents ahead of the summer.

Arsenal monitoring Franculino Dju

Known simply as Franculino, the Guinea-Bissau star has made a mark playing with FC Midtjylland in Denmark. The Danish side signed him from Benfica, where, despite being regarded as a top talent, the player felt the need to play regularly, and his move has paid dividends.

The 19-year-old attacking prodigy has notched 12 goals this season, including five in the Conference League qualifiers earlier in the season. While he still has a contract with Midtjylland until 2028, the Danish side might see a premature exit for the striker.

Franculino likes to play as a centre-forward but has often played games as a second striker or on the right wing. Mikel Arteta’s versatile qualities significantly boost their pursuit of the 19-year-old prodigy, as the Spaniard likes his attackers to occupy multiple positions.

While a club like Arsenal showing interest would certainly appeal to any player on this planet, any move will depend on Midtjylland’s asking price. Moreover, the striker, who was so adamant about playing during his Benfica days, will not want to sit on the bench for long periods, as he will have to play through massive competition in north London.

Arsenal are evaluating their centre-forward position

For some time now, the Gunners have been linked with a top-draw centre-forward to bring in the goals. However, that problem has been been solved by the distribution of goals among other players, but the club might plan on bringing a new forward to replace someone like Eddie Nketiah.

Nketiah has plenty of interest from fellow Premier League sides, as he has not started a game since the start of 2024. Hence, the chances of his departure are significant, and someone like Franculino could be the right option to replace him at Arsenal.
