Jadon Sancho is keen on completing a permanent switch to Borussia Dortmund from Manchester United in the summer.

According to Florian Plettenberg, Jadon Sancho wants to continue at Borussia Dortmund beyond the summer. The Manchester United loanee has been doing great since returning to his former club and would love to join them on a permanent basis.

Sancho’s big-money move to United in the summer of 2021 didn’t really go according to plan. The England international never really got going at the club. Things went from bad to worse after he had a public fallout with their manager Erik ten Hag.

Following this rift between the player and the manager, the 23-year-old was exiled from the first team for the first half of the season before returning to Dortmund on a short loan.

Since joining the German club on loan, he has featured in a total of 10 matches and has contributed towards four goals. He recently dropped a man-of-the-match performance against PSV Eindhoven in the second leg of the Champions League quarter-final helping Dortmund reach the quarter-finals.

Sancho has started to re-discover himself at the German club and would love to continue there for years to come. His loan move doesn’t include any buy options, as a result, a permanent switch will not be easy.

A permanent switch to Dortmund for Sancho?

The England international is happy to be back at his old club and has once again started enjoying his football. While the player would love to stay at Dortmund, it is still too early to say whether that will happen.

There could be a managerial change at Manchester United in the summer which will once again open the doors for Sancho. Moreover, the new ownership led by Sir Jim Ratcliffe is yet to make a decision regarding the 23-year-old’s future.

The arrival of a new manager and Ratcliffe’s decision will play a big part in Sancho’s future. Meanwhile, he earns a fortune at United and that could become a roadblock as Dortmund can’t afford to pay him huge wages.

But, they are keen on having him in their ranks and are willing to fork out €35 million to sign him in the summer. Meanwhile, reports suggest, United want a lot more than that at this stage. The two clubs are expected to meet over the next weeks to discuss the possibility of a transfer.
