Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly keen on signing 26-year-old Fulham defender Tosin Adarabioyo.

A report from Football Insider has claimed that Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur are plotting a summer move for Tosin Adarabioyo, who will be available on a free transfer in the summer transfer window. Italian clubs are keen on signing the 26-year-old defender as well.

The 26-year-old is a proven performer in the Premier League, and he could prove to be a useful acquisition for the two clubs. Liverpool need more depth in central defence and the former Manchester City defender could prove to be a replacement for Joel Matip.

The experienced Liverpool defender will be out of contract in the summer, and the Reds must replace him adequately. The Fulham centre-back has thus emerged as a viable target for the Merseyside club.

Bringing in someone who is well-settled in the Premier League could prove to be a wise decision. He could make an immediate impact. Also, signing him on a free transfer would represent excellent business. Meanwhile, Tottenham have already invested in a couple of quality central defenders this season. But it seems that they are not done yet.

They are looking to bring in another quality defender who can complete their back four for the foreseeable future and have identified the Fulham star as a bargain option. It will be interesting to see if they can convince the player to join them at the end of the season.

Adarabioyo will want regular football at a high level

The 26-year-old Englishman will probably want to play regularly at this stage of his career, and it remains to be seen which of the two English clubs can provide him with the necessary assurances.

Adarabioyo is unlikely to have any shortage of options in the summer. It will be interesting to see if he decides to continue in the Premier League or move abroad. Clubs in Italy are prepared to provide him with an exit route at the end of the season.

The defender is entering the peak years of his career, and he will probably want to join the club capable of competing at the highest level. Liverpool could be an attractive destination for him. They will be able to provide him with Champions League football next season as well. Meanwhile, Tottenham are pushing for a top-four finish, and it remains to be seen where they end up.
