Ange Postecoglou wants Tottenham Hotspur to sanction the departure of 27-year-old midfielder Tanguy Ndombele.
According to a report by KARAR, Tanguy Ndombele is not a part of Ange Postecoglou’s plans moving ahead and the Australian manager wants Tottenham to get rid of the 27-year-old in the upcoming transfer window to make room for new signings.
Ndombele’s failed Tottenham move
After making a name for himself at Olympique Lyon, Ndombele made the move to Tottenham Hotspur in the summer of 2019. Spurs signed him with a move of expectations but the move never really worked out.
He has had multiple loan spells away from the club and even when he has been a part of the North London club’s squad, the 27-year-old hasn’t really done much.
Ndombele was on loan at Napoli last season. While he did return in the summer, there was no place for him in Postecoglou’s plans and Spurs decided to once again send him out on loan. Turkish giants Galatasaray jumped on the opportunity and signed him on loan with an option to buy.
But, they are unlikely to trigger the option to buy him on a permanent basis as the 27-year-old has failed to break into their first team. He has only had 656 minutes of his team football spread across 25 matches.
Ndombele not in Postecoglou’s plans
While he is all set to return to the North London club in the summer, his contract with them runs out in the summer of 2025. As a result, Spurs will look to sanction his departure rather than letting him leave for free in a year’s time.
Postecoglou has started planning for next summer, he wants to bolster his midfield by signing İsmail Yüksek. The Fenerbahçe star who has been on fire of late is expected to take Pierre-Emile Højbjerg’s place in the team if they manage to land him at the club.
Hojbjerg is not the only player Tottenham want to part ways with. They are also looking to sanction the departure of Ndombele who is not in the Australian manager’s plan. Postecoglou wants him gone and he will most likely have his wish in the upcoming transfer window.
