Manchester United are reportedly interested in signing 25-year-old American midfielder Weston McKennie from Serie A club Juventus.
A report from Give Me Sport has claimed that Manchester United might consider signing Weston McKennie in the summer transfer window. Arsenal and Fulham are interested in the American international as well.
McKennie has played in the Premier League before with Leeds United on loan. He earns £35,000 per week at Juventus, and it remains to be seen whether the Red Devils can secure an agreement for him.
Manchester United need more depth in the middle of the park, and the 25-year-old could prove to be a useful option. The American international midfielder will add depth, work rate and drive to the side. They have shown interest in other midfielders, including Ederson.
Given the fact that he has played in England before, he should be able to settle in quickly and make an immediate impact. The opportunity to join one of the biggest clubs in the world will be a tempting proposition for the player as well.
Meanwhile, Arsenal could use more quality in the middle of the park as well. They need to add more depth to compete on all fronts, and McKennie could prove to be a solid acquisition. It will be interesting to see if Arsenal can beat Manchester United to his signature.
Finally, Fulham are hoping to add to their squad during the summer transfer window, and they have identified the 25-year-old Juventus midfielder as a potential target. He will probably hope to join a big club like Arsenal or Manchester United. However, if the transfer does not materialise, Fulham could be an interesting option for him as well.
The London club are currently looking to put together a squad capable of finishing in the top half consistently and a quality midfielder could make a big difference for them. Fulham should look to invest in a reliable goalscorer as well, with Jonas Wind being a target.
Weston McKennie could be a useful addition
McKennie is capable of operating as a central midfielder as well as a box to box midfielder. He has seven assists to his name this season. He will add creativity to the side and help out defensively as well. There is no doubt that the 25-year-old has the physical and technical attributes to thrive in England, and he could be a key player for all three clubs.
His time at Leeds United did not work out as expected because the Whites were going through a rough patch. McKennie never really managed to show his qualities in a settled team at Leeds, and he will look to prove himself in England this time around.
