Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal have managed to tie down their defensive duo of Ben White and Takehiro Tomiyasu to a new deal.
According to a report by HITC, Ben White and Takehiro Tomiyasu have both penned down a new deal with Arsenal. The Gunners were working very hard to extend their stay at the club and they have succeeded in doing so.
The North London club have already made an official announcement about White’s new long-term deal and soon, they are expected to make Tomiyasu’s contract extension official.
Arsenal are currently involved in the title race. While the squad is focused on the objective at hand, people at the club have started to prepare themselves for the summer. The Gunners are looking at ways to further bolster their squad but they also want to ensure they keep hold of their key players.
Ben White and Takehiro Tomiyasu’s new deal
They have already handed new deals to quite a few of their stars and were working on extending the stay of White and Tomiyasu. The 26-year-old centre-back joined Arsenal from Brighton in 2021. He did feature in the heart of the defence during his initial days but of late, he has been Arteta’s first choice at right-back.
While he had two years left on his deal, the Spanish manager was keen on securing his future. Reports earlier suggested that the Gunners were quite confident about extending his stay and now they have managed to do that. The 25-year-old Japanese right-back also arrived back in 2021. He might not be a guaranteed starter but he has been an important part of their squad.
With his deal running out in the summer of 2025, Arteta and the club were both keen on securing their investment. They have succeeded in doing so as both of them have reportedly penned down a four-year-long deal with an option to extend it by another 12 months.
Both players have played key roles in their recent success and Arteta will be pleased to know that they have committed their long-term future to the club. With the duo’s future now secure, the Gunners will focus on signings they want to make in the summer.
