Liverpool are front-runners for the signatures of the 21-year-old TSG Hoffenheim attacking sensation Max Beier.
According to SportBILD via SportWitness, Max Beier has attracted a lot of attention because of his impressive performances in the Bundesliga. While multiple English clubs are keen on having him in their ranks, Liverpool are the best placed at this stage to sign the TSG Hoffenheim star.
Max Beier’s sensational rise
Beier has come up the ranks at the German club. He was promoted to their first team in the summer of 2020. After a debut season where he didn’t really get much game time, he was sent out on a two-year-long loan to Hannover 96.
He returned to his parent club ahead of the ongoing season. The 21-year-old has gone from strength to strength since coming back. In the ongoing season, he has featured in a total of 24 Bundesliga games and has contributed towards 17 goals.
The German youth international has found the back of the net on 12 occasions and his impressive display has caught the attention of multiple top clubs. As many as four English clubs are interested in having him in their ranks.
Liverpool lead the race for Max Beier
Liverpool, Brentford, Brighton and Nottingham Forest are all monitoring him closely but according to the report, the Reds are best placed to sign the 21-year-old in the summer. And, that is because of their status, transfer funds and the fact that Xabi Alonso is a huge admirer of Beier.
The Bayer Leverkusen manager is quite impressed by the youngster and if he ends up taking over from Jurgen Klopp ahead of next season, a move to the Merseyside club will surely make a lot of sense.
Signing a new striker is not one of their priorities but they are unlikely to pass on this good a deal. While Beier has over three years left on his deal with the German club, there is a €32.5 million release clause that could lead to his departure in the summer.
It might not be that big a fee but Brentford, Brighton and Nottingham might still struggle to pay for it. The Segullas might still manage given the kind of sales they have done in the recent past. But, Brentford and Nottingham don’t have the best financial conditions making Liverpool the best-placed in the race.
