Liverpool and Everton are among the admirers of German striker Maximilian Beier, with Hoffenheim ready to sell him for a fixed price.

According to Sport Bild via Sport Witness, Everton and Liverpool could battle for German striker Maximilian Beier in the summer. The €32.5 million-rated forward has a release clause in his Hoffenheim contract, which the Bundesliga club are confident of achieving considering the widespread interest from English sides.

Liverpool and Everton are chasing Maximilian Beier

Serhou Guirassy and Harry Kane have taken the limelight in the Bundesliga this season with their goalscoring performances, but many in the background are putting on a show. One of them is Hoffenheim forward Maximilian Beier, who has seven goals and five assists this season.

The Hoffenheim striker recently signed a new contract with a €32.5 million release clause that reduces by €2.5 each season. The 21-year-old had Liverpool interested in him earlier, but the likes of Brentford made an approach which was swiftly rejected by the Bundesliga side as it did not meet the exit clause.

Liverpool had no plans to sign him in January, but they could pursue the €32.5 million-rated German striker in the summer. Whether they realistically need Beier this summer will depend on departures, with Mohamed Salah one of the possible exits in the close season.

There are also rumours about Diogo Jota considering his future in the wake of Jurgen Klopp’s impending summer departure. Hence, Liverpool might target Beier only if there’s space in the forward line. The Reds face competition from Merseyside rivals Everton, with the Toffees also keen on the striker.

Everton might have made the move for Beier had it not been for their financial predicament, which has seen the Premier League dock ten points this season. In the summer, the Toffees might come into a position of spending. Still, any move for the €32.5 million-rated German striker will depend on their ability to stay alive in the Premier League.

Hoffenheim demand Beier’s release clause

Hoffenheim are aware of the market potential a player like Beier can have, considering his performances this season. Hence, they expect interested clubs to pay his release clause in total, which will stay at €32.5 million.

While Liverpool can easily pay up that sort of fee, Brentford too might come into the equation if they manage to offload star striker Ivan Toney. Everton are the one doubtful, given their existing financial troubles, as they will surely look to bargain with Hoffenheim.
