Pedro Neto wants to play in Champions League amid exit links

Arsenal, Liverpool and Tottenham have been handed a boost in the Pedro Neto chase as the winger is keen to play in the Champions League.

According to Football Insider, Pedro Neto would prefer to join a club playing in the UEFA Champions League should he leave Wolves in the close season. The £60 million-rated winger has been the subject of intense transfer speculation, with the likes of Arsenal, Liverpool and Tottenham interested in signing him in the summer.

Pedro Neto prefers a Champions League club

Pedro Neto has had a fantastic season with Wolves so far, although there have been a few injury-enforced absences for the winger this season. Despite his fitness issues, which some might think could pose a challenge for big clubs to consider him, the £60 million-rated winger does have some high-profile suitors chasing his signature.

Arsenal have stayed interested, with Mikel Arteta looking at Neto for over two years now. There have been other priorities for the Spaniard since, although, in the upcoming summer window, he might prioritise a move for the £60 million-rated winger from Wolves.

Tottenham are also well placed to sign him should they approach, with Neto likely to choose them should they meet his criteria. The report states the Wolves winger would prefer to join a Champions League side should he leave the Midlands club in the summer.

Liverpool and Manchester City will be boosted by the decision from the winger, which could open up a huge transfer battle of sorts in the summer. Arsenal, Tottenham and the likes could challenge the duo for the £60 million-rated winger, although not everyone might be present in next season’s Champions League.

Which clubs are well placed for Pedro Neto?

While Wolves themselves are eyeing a European finish to end their season on a high, playing in the UEFA Europa Conference League or Europa League might not be enough for a player of Neto’s calibre. Hence, his choice of featuring in the Champions League feels ambitious, although not all of the interested clubs can guarantee that.

For instance, Arsenal and Liverpool are close to achieving Champions League qualification for next season, but Tottenham are still some way far. Spurs managed a 4-0 win over top-four rivals Aston Villa and have a game in hand. However, they do have tough fixtures before the season ends, which may come to define their chances of playing in next season’s Champions League.
