Arsenal are reportedly interested in signing Real Madrid midfielder Brahim Diaz in the summer transfer window.

Spanish journalist Miguel Serrano has claimed that Arsenal are prepared to pay €70 million for Real Madrid midfielder Brahim Diaz. Mikel Arteta is pushing the North London club to sign the former Manchester City playmaker.

The 24-year-old attacker has struggled for regular game time, and he has been a squad player for Real Madrid.  The talented attacker will be hoping to play more often in the coming months and if Arsenal can provide him with that opportunity, he is likely to be attracted to the idea of moving back to the Premier League.

Arsenal need more attacking depth in the side if they want to compete for major trophies. Signing a versatile midfielder who can play anywhere across the front three would be ideal for them. Diaz will add goals and assists to the side. He is capable of taking on defenders and beating them as well.

The Spanish attacker has eight goals and four assists to his name across all competitions. His numbers are likely to improve when he is playing regularly, and a move to Arsenal would be an exciting opportunity. The reported €70 million bid seems substantial, but the Real Madrid midfielder can live up to the billing.

Arsenal need more depth and Brahim Diaz would be ideal

Meanwhile, Real Madrid might not want to let go of the player anytime soon. But they will be under pressure if a lucrative offer is presented. They will be fully aware of the fact that they will not be able to promise regular game time to the player, and Diaz could force an exit.

Arsenal finished second in the title race last season, and they are pushing for the title once again this year. So the Gunners will be hoping to compete for major trophies consistently and they need more quality in the side.

There is no doubt that they have a quality starting lineup, but they need better players to rotate the squad more often. Brahim Diaz has proven himself in Italy and Spain. There is no doubt that he has the technical attributes to do well in the Premier League as well.

Why would Arsenal help out Real Madrid by giving them transfer money to spend elsewhere and lowering their wage bill by buying a player from them that they have to pay wages to that cannot get a game. Leave him with Real Madrid and then maybe they won’t be able to put the money towards Mbappe. Then maybe Arsenal can put that £60 million towards Mbappe instead. If Real Madrid want to pay Mbappe his huge wage demand, then they will need to first lower their large wage bill by offloading fringe players for next to nothing, just to get rid of their wages. So fringe players like Diaz will be sold for around £20 million just to get rid of his wage on their account books. I think you’ll find they will need a quick fire sale in order to raise the funds for Mbappe.
