West Ham United are keeping a close eye on 25-year-old Sporting CP star Pedro Goncalves ahead of a potential move in the summer.

According to a report by HITC, West Ham United are looking at options to bolster their attack ahead of next season and Sporting CP’s Pedro Goncalves is one of the names on their radar. The 25-year-old winger has been on fire in the ongoing season and the Hammers are looking to add him to their ranks in the summer.

Pedro Goncalves revives himself at Sporting CP

Goncalves joined Wolves back in 2017. Unfortunately, the move didn’t go according to plan and after failing to fire in the Premier League, he joined Famalicão in 2019. A year later, Sporting CP signed him and he has since gone from strength to strength.

The 25-year-old is now a mainstay at the Portuguese club. In the ongoing season, he has featured in 39 matches in all competitions and has contributed with 15 goals and 14 assists. While he prefers playing on the flanks, Goncalves can be used in multiple positions in attack as well as the midfield.

His consistent performances have put him on the radar of multiple top clubs. Liverpool were reportedly interested in him back in January. But, at this point in time, West Ham United are quite keen on having him in their ranks.

West Ham keen on Pedro Goncalves

The Hammers want to reinforce their squad in the summer. And, with Lucas Paqueta’s future uncertain amidst interest from Manchester City, they could come up with a situation where he might need a replacement. Goncalves could be an ideal replacement.

He is versatile and will also add a lot of goals to their ranks. The report states that West Ham’s transfer chief Tim Steidten is working hard to land the 25-year-old at the London Stadium. They need attacking reinforcement and the Sporting star is a player of his interest.

They have been scouting him in recent weeks as they prepare themselves for a busy summer transfer window ahead of next season. With over three years left in the Portuguese international’s contract at Sporting, the Hammers might have to fork out a sizeable amount to acquire his services.
