Newcastle United, Manchester United, and Liverpool are all keen on having 26-year-old FC Porto star Galeno in their ranks.

According to Record via Sport Witness, Newcastle United are interested in acquiring the services of Galeno, and they have been tracking him of late. The 26-year-old has been in sensation form in the ongoing season, and his performances have attracted interest from across Europe.

Manchester United and Liverpool are two other Premier League clubs that have been linked with the Brazilian winger. Both teams could end up challenging the Magpies for the signature of the FC Porto forward. He has a €60 million release clause in his contract with Porto.

Galeno’s return to FC Porto

Galeno was a part of the FC Porto ranks back in the day. But he left in the summer of 2019 as things were not working for him at the club. After having a decent spell at SC Braga, where he scored 23 goals and bagged 24 assists in 113 outings, he returned to FC Porto in the winter of 2022.

The 26-year-old has gone from strength to strength since his return. In the ongoing season, the Brazilian winger has featured in 35 matches, contributing towards 22 goals. He has found the back of the net on 12 occasions and also has ten assists to his name.

Clubs scouting the Brazilian winger

His incredible run has attracted a lot of interest from across Europe, and clubs have been scouting him for a while now. Representatives of top clubs were present in the stands of the Estadio do Dragao to watch Porto’s 5-0 win over Benfica at the weekend.

Newcastle United’s representatives were a part of the English contingent that were present in the stands to watch Galeno in action. He was a standout performer on the night with two goals and an assist. People at the club are quite impressed by the 26-year-old and feel he could bolster their squad. As a result, they will push for him in the summer.

But, the Magpies were not the only ones scouting him, as scouts from Manchester United and Liverpool were also in the stands. Both teams want to further reinforce their attack ahead of next season, and they feel Galeno could be an ideal option to have.

However, it will still not be easy for any of the clubs to sign him. There was a €30 million offer in the winter, but it was turned down by the Portuguese club. The 26-year-old is protected by a €60 million release clause having penned down a new deal in the recent past.
