Tottenham ready to intensify contract talks with Son Heung-min

Tottenham Hotspur are looking to agree on a new deal with South Korean international and club captain Son Heung-min.

A report from Graeme Bailey on HITC has claimed that Tottenham Hotspur will step up contract talks with 31-year-old attacker Son Heung-min, and it remains to be seen whether he is ready to commit his future to the club.

The South Korean international has been one of the best players in the Premier League since joining Tottenham from Bayer Leverkusen. He is undoubtedly an indispensable asset for Spurs, and they must do everything in their power to hold on to him.

Losing a quality player like Son Heung-min, especially after the departure of Harry Kane will weaken the squad. Son is not just a quality attacker but also the leader in the dressing room. So, Tottenham cannot afford to lose him anytime soon.

The South Korean international is still very much at the peak of his powers, and he will be able to compete at a high level in the coming seasons. Tottenham will be hoping to end their wait for a trophy soon, and Son will be crucial to achieving their ambitions. The 31-year-old has scored 13 goals and picked up six assists in the Premier League this season.

Son Heung-min has no reason to leave

Tottenham have improved immensely under Ange Postecoglou, and they are well-placed to secure Champions League qualification. They have put together an exciting squad and could be challenging for major trophies soon. It will not be surprising if Son decides to commit his future to the club, which reports have suggested is the case.

Tottenham are clearly going through a positive phase right now, and there is no reason for the South Korean to abandon them. The attacker has been a loyal servant for Tottenham since joining them in 2015, and he is closing in on 300 league appearances for them.

He enjoyed a record-breaking partnership with Harry Kane during their time together at the club. The pair provided 47 goals for each other in the league, and Spurs will hope to bring in a quality striker who can form a similar partnership with Son next season.
