West Ham United could make a surprise move in the summer for the services of Arsenal shot-stopper Aaron Ramsdale.

According to Ben Jacobs via Give Me Sport, West Ham United could look for a new goalkeeper in the upcoming summer transfer window. Arsenal’s Aaron Ramsdale is expected to be on the move in the summer, and the Hammers could push for his signatures. He is also a target for AC Milan.

Aaron Ramsdale is amongst the best goalkeepers in the Premier League. But unfortunately, he has gone down the pecking order at Arsenal. Mikel Arteta’s team went in and signed David Raya from Brentford last summer. While it is a season-long loan deal, there is an option to buy that is expected to be triggered by the Gunners.

Arteta suggested that he will rotate his two goalkeepers. The Arsenal boss said that he wanted competition in goal, which is why Raya was brought in. But, in reality, the Spaniard was looking for a ball-playing keeper, and the former Brentford shot-stopper has been a regular since arriving at the club.

West Ham United could make a move for Aaron Ramsdale

Ramsdale has gone down the pecking order and has been the deputy throughout the campaign. The England international, who cost Arsenal £30 million, is now expected to push for a move away from the club in the summer. While there is interest from across Europe, Ben Jacobs feels West Ham United could move in for his services.

The Hammers do not really need a new goalkeeper, and they are quite happy with the output of Lukasz Fabianski and Alphonse Areola. The duo has been competing for the number one spot at the London Stadium, and they have been consistent performers.

But, with Fabianski already 38, they will be forced to bring in a replacement in the near future. As a result, West Ham could consider signing the 25-year-old who is amongst the best in the English top flight. The Hammers will look to avoid a situation where they regret not making a move for the Arsenal goalkeeper.

AC Milan’s interest in the England international

AC Milan are also keen on his signatures as per Fichajes. They are keeping a close eye on the England international’s situation. While they do have Mike Maignan in their ranks, the 28-year-old has been linked with a move away from San Sir. If Milan fail to keep hold of their star, they will make Rasmdale their top priority for the summer.
