Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah has been linked with a move away from the club in recent months.
His contract expires in 2025 and Liverpool could look to sell him if he does not renew his contract with them. A report from Football Insider claims that they will demand in excess of £100 million for him.
They signed the Egyptian for a fee of around £37 million back in 2017 and he has been an indispensable asset for them. He has helped them win the Premier League title and the UEFA Champions League trophy along with other domestic honours.
The 31-year-old attacker has 19 goals and 10 assists to his name across all competitions this season and he is a world-class player. Replacing him will be a major challenge for any club and it will be interesting to see if Liverpool can convince him to sign a new contract with them.
Saudi Arabian clubs were keen on signing the player at the start of the season and they are expected to return with attractive offers in the summer.
It will be interesting to see if Salah is keen on continuing in the Premier League. He is certainly operating at a world class level and he should be playing in a top league in the upcoming seasons as well. He will have plenty of opportunities to move to Saudi Arabia in the near future.
Losing Salah and Klopp would be major blows
Liverpool will already be without their charismatic manager Jurgen Klopp next season and losing their best player would be a double blow. Liverpool fans will certainly hope that Salah can commit his long term future to the club and continue at Anfield for a few more seasons.
Despite having a number of quality attackers at their disposal, Liverpool are overly dependent on Salah and keeping him at the club will help them compete for major trophies next season as well.
Liverpool are currently pushing for the Premier League title and it remains to be seen whether Salah can help them go all the way. They have already won the Carabao Cup and are in the knockout rounds of the FA Cup and the UEFA Europa League.
