After snapping up many top stars last summer, the Saudi Pro League will continue their European spending spree in the upcoming transfer market as they turn their sights on Premier League stars Mohamed Salah and Kevin De Bruyne, according to 90min.
It’s gearing up to be another busy summer for Saudi Pro League clubs, with the number of foreign players allowed in each squad set to rise from eight to ten next season.
Similar to last summer, the leading four Saudi teams—Al-Ittihad, Al-Ahli, Al-Nassr, and Al-Hilal— are keen to exploit the rich transfer resources given to them by the kingdom’s sovereign wealth Public Investment Fund (PIF).
Although teams aren’t expected to match the lavish spending from a year ago, they will be just as assertive in their continued efforts to sign players and boost the stock of the Saudi Pro League.

There is a list of 100 possible targets, with the top 20 being occupied by world-class European players. And at the top of this wish list are Premier League stars Salah and De Bruyne, both of whom are regarded as the main targets for the league this summer.
Pro League teams were linked with approaches for both men in January. Both Salah and De Bruyne will be 32 years old by the summer of 2024, and the Saudis are confident they could be lured by the lucrative offers being offered in the Middle East.
The potential loss of the duo would not only provide headaches to their current sides, but it would also be a blow for the English Premier League.
Salah was targeted last summer after Al-Ittihad launched a £150 million bid for the Egyptian attacker, which Liverpool rejected.
He ultimately ended up staying and has been instrumental in helping them win the League Cup and mount a genuine challenge for the Premier League title this season, scoring 14 goals in 20 Premier League matches.
As for De Bruyne, the 99-cap Belgian has returned from hamstring surgery with two goals and seven assists in seven games, but his contract expires at the end of next season, which makes him an intriguing proposition to explore for the Saudi Pro League clubs.
