Bayern Munich are interested in signing Liverpool’s Andrew Robertson as a potential replacement for Alphonso Davies.

According to a report by Daily Mail, Bayern Munich are on the lookout for a new left-back, and Liverpool’s Andrew Robertson is one of their targets. The German giants are ready to push for the services of the Scottish international, with Alphonso Davies’s future at the club uncertain.

Andre Robertson’s time at Liverpool

Robertson has been one of the mainstays of the Liverpool first team since joining them back in 2017. The Merseyside club signed him from Hull City for a bargain £8 million. He has since featured in over 250 matches and has helped them win every major title.

The 62-cap Scottish international has played a pivotal role in their success in the recent past under Jurgen Klopp. The 29-year-old will still have two years left on his deal with the Merseyside club in the summer, and they have no intentions of sanctioning his departure anytime soon.

Bayern Munich keen on the Liverpool full-back

Bayern Munich are aware of the fact that it won’t be easy to prise Robertson away from Liverpool given his importance to their team. But, they are still willing to try their luck. They have been watching him for a while now and feel that he is the ideal player to replace Alphonso Davies, with the Canadian international likely to join Real Madrid at the end of the season.

While the Liverpool full-back will soon turn 30, the German club feel he still has quite a few years left in him. As a result, Bayern are willing to invest in him. And, with Jurgen Klopp leaving, a lot of changes could happen at the Merseyside club in the summer. That is why Bayern feel this is the ideal time to push for Robertson and see if he is up for a new challenge elsewhere.

Davies could part ways with the German giants

Bayern Munich’s priority will be to keep hold of Davies, but that could prove to be very difficult. His contract runs out in just over a year and Real Madrid are knocking on the door. He already has a verbal agreement in place with the Spanish club as per reports. As a result, the German club might be forced to sell as they will not want to risk losing out on him for free.
