Manchester United star defender Raphael Varane is contemplating his future at the club amidst interest from elsewhere.

According to a report by HITC, the future of Raphael Varane has become the talk of the town of late. His current deal with Manchester United is running out in the summer, and clubs from across Europe as well as the Middle East are keen on having him in their ranks.

Varane joined Manchester United in the summer of 2021 from Real Madrid. After winning it all at the Spanish club, the Red Devils forked out £41 million, including add-ons to land him at the Old Trafford. While he has done a decent so far, injuries have kept him out for a significant time since making the move to England.

The French World Cup winner even fell down the pecking order under Erik ten Hag at one point in the ongoing season. But, he was reinstated in the team against Liverpool and has since been a regular feature.

Raphael Varane considering his future at United

While the 30-year-old centre-back has been an important part of their first team, his future at the club is uncertain. His contract runs out at the end of the season. There is an option to extend it by another 12 months, but the Red Devils are still assessing that option.

There is another option where the French defender could agree on a new deal with lesser terms to extend his stay. While there are multiple options, nothing much has happened yet as Varane has yet to make a decision. He is still considering his long-term future at the English club.

Interest from Inter Milan and the Middle East

Amid the possibility of the 30-year-old being available for free in a few months, clubs across Europe and the Middle East are keen on his signatures. Saudi Pro League clubs have been in talks with the player’s representatives, while Inter Milan have also registered their interest in him.

The Nerazzurri want to bolster their defence and feel Varane still has a lot of football left in him. He can help them maintain their recent dominance. As a result, they are willing to make a move for the former Real Madrid star if he is available for free.
