Olivier Giroud considering MLS move

AC Milan’s 37-year-old striker Olivier Giroud is considering the idea of making a move to the Major League Soccer.

According to a report by Calciomercato, Olivier Giroud is interested in making a move to America, the 37-year-old AC Milan forward is considering the idea of trying out a new adventure in Major League Soccer. With his future at the Italian club uncertain, he could make a move in next summer.

Giroud has had an illustrious career for both club and country. He has featured for some of the powerhouses of European football. The 37-year-old joined Arsenal in the summer of 2012 after making a name for himself at Montpellier.

He had a successful stint at the north London club before joining rivals Chelsea in the winter of 2018. Giroud won the Champions League with the Blues before making the move to Italy in 2021. The French World Cup winner has had a lot of success at AC Milan so far. He has already won the league with them.

Despite being 37, he is still going strong. In his 30 appearances this season, the French striker has scored 13 goals and even has nine assists to his name.

Giroud’s uncertain future

While his performances have been top-notch, his future at the club is uncertain. Giroud’s contract with the Italian club runs out at the end of the season. At this stage, there are no talks of a renewal and it is unlikely to happen until the very end.

Both parties are expected to evaluate things after the end of the season and that is exactly when a decision can be reached. There could be a possibility of Milan offering him a new deal given the kind of form he has displayed throughout the season.

However, it will be interesting to see what kind of plans the former Arsenal and Chelsea striker has. According to the report, he likes the idea of moving to America and playing in Major League Soccer. The MLS already has some of the biggest stars of world football and Giroud could be another big signing for them.
